Hello Spirit Friends. I do hope you are doing well as is my wish for all today. I am doing better but it’s trial and error these days. More on that next week. This little story came to me about a week ago and I just couldn’t pass it up. I hope you enjoy reading as much as I enjoy sharing (: Several days ago, my son noticed the smallest little red ladybug outside his bedroom door. It was crawling around on the threshold and just hanging out. This almost grown son of mine being almost 17 still is quite the observer of the smallest details. I hope that aspect remains with him always. He told me there was a ladybug on the floor as I was surprised! We rarely get bugs in the house anymore and with it being winter here, a ladybug would be RARE.
We watched it for a bit while being so caught up in his fascination. It made me think of when he was a little boy and now his interest was still there. He was the kid who would notice the tiniest of frogs on a sandbank just waiting to jump from the mud. His sister and I would walk by and never see them. This was when they both were young and not quite old enough for big kid school. I took them to parks, playgrounds, nature centers, and more to explore and we loved it! The coolest thing is all this is free and practically right in our backyard. Well, close enough anyway. This man child of mine would also watch ants without destroying their mounds on the patio or driveway. He was the typical boy in that way minus the getting muddy part. He didn’t like that too much but then times changed. I recall him also loving worms. Not physically touching them like his sister but just watching. She’d be the one to step on all those bugs to see what happened while he would stare in shocked amazement. Good times for sure… I do admire her curiosity always but sometimes wish it wasn’t well, so assertive shall we say! He is still timid but has come a long way.
Let’s get back to the ladybug story of last week. He did manage to place his finger in front of her as she crawled for a bit. It was such a special time and I enjoyed watching these two bonding together. Well, here’s where it gets more interesting. Sometimes, near bedtime I place some crystals above my pillow before sleep depending on how the mood fits or what I need to be manifesting. I also start the night off with my socks on and then when those feet warm up, off they come. I placed my socks behind the pillow and not on the floor just in case I’d need them again. Turns out I didn’t as morning came. I went to make my bed after waking and put the socks and crystals back where they belonged. I noticed something else on that pillow and thought it was a fuzzy from one of the socks. Am sure you can guess! Yep, it was our friend the ladybug or at least am thinking it was the same one. She was still alive too. How in the world did she make it from my son’s doorway through the hallway and into my room and then bed? Plus, I close the door but there is room for a tiny bug to enter. My husband usually falls asleep downstairs on the couch as that is more comfortable for him. He stays there most nights.
I just couldn’t believe this tiny ladybug was now with me and on my pillow! How long was she there? All night? Protecting me? I’ll never know for sure but I placed her on my finger and then on my dresser. I let her be and after leaving the room, I never saw her again. So hope the cat didn’t get to her but wasn’t noticing her around later at all. HMMM… I did seem to recall Warrior who is the man I reference in my book calling his oldest daughter ” ladybug.” His wife Dana mentioned this a while back and that was one of her nicknames. She relates a story of when Indy was getting ready to move to California and staying with a host family her senior year of high school. She was training to be a ballerina as I do hope success came her way! She was standing in the driveway with her mom and sister when a ladybug landed on her shoulder. Her mother said: “Daddy is here with us.” He wanted to see her off as they believed in that ladybug sign. After all, that was her nickname so take with it what you wish.
We all may know that a ladybug means good luck but I have wondered what else she stands for. Some other words to describe her are: happiness, true love, metamorphosis, positivity, making the right choices, divine intervention, and many more! Indy was making a big move in her life and me- well, I am making some other changes in my life too. I am still amazed at this little ladybug in our house even though they have been around before. That of course is in the summer or up in the attic. My son found her but I needed her to be a sign with my current situation. I do hope you all believe in signs as they are there every single day if we just take the time to notice. You may not get a ladybug like me but never underestimate the power of little things which is one of my strongest messages. Sometimes, we may not even be asking for one or being specific at all. A ladybug was never one of my signs but she came that day and night in our house with her beautiful messages.
So, Spirit friends there’s my story for today. I do wish you all that the ladybug brings and never stop believing in the power of signs.
