***** Before today’s post I just wanted to address an important issue regarding last week. It was all about Living without Regrets. To clarify as this came to me later on, I do not nor will I ever condone violence in any form. The regrets I was referencing are other issues entirely as I hope most readers know. We do always have free will but violence never solves anything and feeds into hate. So, I am moving on from that and getting to the FUN of today!!!
I realized after looking thru my posts how serious most are. Not all but most. My other blog has many funny stories of working with someone in spirit but this one needed to be different. It has been almost 2.5 years now but I thought it needed more funny…. After all, our guides do want us to enjoy life, laugh, and have happy memories. It doesn’t have to be super serious and spiritual all the time. We need to laugh at ourselves more with the silliness. Don’t get me wrong here— some things are not funny and never will be. Am sure you can understand the difference. There’s work and then there’s play…. Do more of the play. Am sure you’re thinking I’m crazy as play is for kids. Not true my Spirit Friends! Play is for everyone and us adults need to take those lessons from the kids.
Do you have time for laughter? If not, make the time. Your soul does cry out for more humor and goofiness. Play your favorite dance songs and rock them out!!! I usually play music outside while gardening, swimming, or swinging on my big wooden swing. Music feeds my soul! How about you? I’m talking dance songs or my 80’s music, not opera or relaxation songs. That’s for later… If you have kids, do you play with them? When mine were little, it was easy with all those board games, crafts, parks, playgrounds, and such but as teens— well, it’s more of a challenge. We have had much in our backyard over the years and it’s great to see my 16 and 14 year olds still adding to the zip line, rigging up different old swings, rings, and all that! It gets them away from video games or youtube… Inside is another story but that’s when you need to be creative at times. They don’t always want to hang with Mom and Dad anymore but we do give them their space. Show an interest in their activities even if you don’t really want to. My daughter loves mimicking TicTok dance moves and is always wanting me to try. I’m not good at it but she wants to involve me so I do it for her. My son loves his Nintendo Switch and again, Mom isn’t good at that either but I have tried some. It’s just what we do as parents. A few weeks ago, we headed out to a nature trail and yes, they came along with our dog! We were disappointed in not seeing the waterfalls because the trail was close ( COVID… ): but we still had a good time together!
Even by yourself can be fun. I know that may sound weird but we need it again friends. Do a fitness routine that makes you happy. Yes, you might have to sweat and MOVE but it still can be fun. I love what I do because it not only makes me feel good but keeps me energized! Do anything that fills your soul. If you aren’t into a big fitness schedule, bike ride, jog, or walk around your neighborhood. Last Sunday, my husband and I rode this bike trail together and have never gone that far before. I did hurt the next day just a little but so worth it to be there on a gorgeous morning out in nature. We enjoyed that so much and it truly was fun. Even doing something out of your comfort zone can be fun. Intimidating, YES but at least you can say you went for it! Again, nothing too dangerous but just for the pleasure it can bring into your life. I’d still like to try scuba diving one day or para sailing! I do love the water.
Whatever will bring some humor, laughter, or fun into your life— do it and do more of it. It will be worth scheduling your time and guess what? You won’t regret it either!!! Start small if that’s how you need it to be. I still remember my kids checking out some joke books from the library when they were little and I did that too! Some are just plain goofy but some had us all in stitches with laughter!!! You might just learn a few yourself to use on others. The knock knock ones get old real fast but how creative coming up with your own. In this big crazy world of ours, we NEED the funny to thrive on. It takes us away from all the problems going on, the drama, the sadness, the ugliness, and all the negativity for just a little bit. I know my brain craves it as sometimes I picture the character JOY from the animated movie ” Inside Out” plugging in all the happiness she can find. It’s all about the balance, remember? Us adults aren’t kids anymore but it’s o.k. to act like one at times. Spray those kids with a garden hose, play tag, build a fort, or anything. Am sure you have your own kid memories that you’ll never forget. Bring some back. Even other adults can get involved as some may not have children in their lives.Watch old movies and laugh, get out those comedies! Find some old rerun shows that always tickled your funny bone. My go to’s are Friends, Everybody Loves Raymond, and Seinfeld. What are some of yours? Laugh so much your side hurts! Sometimes, I think things are funny when nobody else does and laugh at little things for hours later! That’s o.k. too even if it’s just for you!
So, Spirit Friends— my request for you today is to get going with some laughing or fun in your life. Come on, you can do it! Just one little thing that will make you escape from your work, tasks, chores, or any of that. Think of ONE thing you can do today or the next several days that will make you act silly, bring in some humor, or just have a little more bounce in your step. Am sure you can think of something if not MANY things. Just spend some time either by yourself or with others truly doing something silly or goofy to brighten part of your day. Your SOUL will be thanking you and truly you will FEEL it… Make a list and go for it…. My post needed a boost of humor and so do you. Let’s enjoy this life together so we can move into the next one saying:
