Hello Spirit Friends and welcome to my blog! As always, thanks for checking in and my wish is good health to all of you. Today, I am diving into the TAO a little bit and I’ll share with you why in a moment. I had heard about this ancient Chinese philosophy and religion a while back, probably a little bit in my World Literature class during high school. It would just be bits and pieces of exploring different faiths, other countries, and all that back then. It wasn’t until a few years ago that it seemed to come more to my mindset. When I started on this spiritual journey, much info came my way and I wanted to explore it all. From the Hindus and Buddhism with yoga to more Eastern ways of doing things. Hay House brought lots of thinkers and authors into my life and I wanted to absorb it all. Can you say sensory overload?
I had listened to Wayne Dyer talk about the Tao ( pronounced Dow) many times before and he totally immersed himself with their teachings. It seems so simple yet us as Westerners can’t seem to grasp its fullness or to accept into our lives. Here is the actual meaning: ” the way, road, path in which one does something, method, doctrine, principle.” There are four principles like there are 8 in Buddhism only this is Chinese. They are:~ simplicity, patience, and compassion, ~ going with the flow, ~ letting go, ~ and harmony. Sounds easy right? Um, probably not so much for most of us. The flow thing is such a hard one for me and yet I wrote about that topic as it follows me everywhere. Gee, I wonder why? I DO know so that is a huge lesson with me. With letting go they say this:
” When nothing is done, nothing is left undone.” Huh? What does that mean? I think what it stresses is that if you never do anything, you get nowhere in life and will always remain stagnant or stuck. That’s why life is fluid and always in motion as we need to be too. The Tao mixes reality, our lives, and the Universe all together and that encompasses every belief system, don’t ya think? It’s all of us humans and our lives mixed with the Universe everyday. Balance my friends, just balance. How did all this come more into my being lately? Well, here’s the story…
If any of you have been reading, I had shared about Kuan Yin and the beautiful oracle deck I was guided to purchase. I also made a youtube video on it as well so feel free to look that up on my channel. So, I love the feminine Yin energy I am receiving and I draw a card every week while asking her a question. A few weeks ago, my question was this: ” How can I best move forward on this spiritual journey that is continually guiding me?” After shuffling the cards for a bit, I drew one that says ” The Tao” with beautiful Kuan Yin playing a harp. Wow… Of course I had heard of the Tao but needed more info. Am I following the Tao exactly because I drew that card? No, but I believe she was guiding me to search deeper but also continue to flow. We can dig for answers all we want but still need to be fully present in the now. We all want some “principles” to live an inspired life and may always strive to be better before we return to our true home someday. It’s all your own interpretation friends so make it work for you.
Many of us were probably raised a certain way and just accepted it until adulthood. We may learn some other things along the path, accept them, and move on. We never question or explore more because our birth family guided us to only believe one way. This is very common and parents want to instill a sense of faith or some kind of doctrines if you were brought up similar like me. When we mature, we know more is out there and might feel compelled to learn things we were swayed away from as kids. It’s not that you are totally rebelling or being spiteful against your parents or anything although they might see it that way. Just make sure however you are guided, it is for the right reasons with good intentions always. I’m not saying to convert to another way of life but just be open to new ways of living, that’s it. Some may even feel compelled to travel to another country and become absorbed into their culture and then adopt it as their own. It would never just be an experience you tuck away as you will remember it for life. Will I totally embrace the Tao? Probably not but becoming exposed to the simplicity of it all is my guidance. The simple things have been coming more into my being these last several years anyway and less truly is more when you think about it.
I do wish you all spiritual guidance on your own journey as I always say and seek out what feels natural to you. Don’t feel guilty about trying new ways of thinking, believing, and doing. Your soul is longing for more and there is so much more to this life than one way. The Tao is all about a path of simplicity and however that looks to you might be different than another. Wayne has LOTS out there on this and he delivered the most compelling speeches ever. Youtube and Hay House have great resources on his beliefs and it isn’t too far out there as you may think. I will continue my learning and find a way that works for me as is my wish for you. Find those teachers who inspire you to search for more than possibly what you were first taught to believe. The Universe has no separation of religion, doctrines, or philosophies. You will know those that resonate with you best so keep going… Have that balance and apply good virtues in whatever you choose to do. Your soul does know the WAY…
