Welcome Spirit Intuitives and friends! I hope you are all well as we begin today’s topic of Yin and Yang. Are you familiar with these terms? I heard them for years but never fully knew the exact meaning. For starters, it’s basically just the duality of two things or opposite energy. You can’t have light without dark, good without bad, life without death, and other connectors. It’s all energy that balances the other one out. Here is the basics of Yin/Yang: The ancient symbol of harmony reminds us that life is a balancing act and most fulfilling when we learn to embrace its dualities~~~ the ups and downs
good times and bad
joys & challenges
*** Kinda sounds like some wedding vows, doesn’t it? Well, it is sorta like that but am sure you know the symbol of a black and white circle represented by Yin and Yang. In a wedding, two people come together with male and female energy. The Yin is female and the male is Yang. Yes, marriages can be anyone coming together now but it still is our energy in both species. The Moon is represented as female energy which is night and the Sun is represented as male energy which is day. Parts of this as a woman I disagree on as it seems that women would be in the dark when sometimes that expression can be suited for men! Am I right ladies? We sometimes say men are “in the dark” because they don’t understand us but that isn’t the case with Yin/ Yang. It is kinda funny though (:
We ALL have both energies of male and female whether we believe that or not. It’s all balance, remember? In life, we have these opposites pulling at us all the time. Even simple words we use often are Yin and Yang. Think about your house. I mentioned Feng Shui a little while back but sometimes things are dirty and then they are clean. Stuff piles up, we declutter, and order returns. There’s your Yin/ Yang right there. Your emotions also can factor in here as well. One minute you’re happy and the next you’re sad. We’ve all been there, right? For whatever reasons your feelings can get all twisted around. That’s more Yin/Yang. Let’s talk a little about how it all began…
Way back over 2000 years ago, Chinese mythology created Yin/Yang as a means to understand the Universe with all its chaos and beauty. It also brought about philosophy and religion which were opposing forces at the time. They mention the world issues of disasters or droughts which then would bring about peace and prosperity. Peace doesn’t always come from war but it’s these opposite ways of thinking that bring about Yin and Yang. No, we don’t want war but it is part of the reality and complexity of life which causes different reactions. It can become quite complex besides my examples but it all shows us how interconnected we truly are.
You can think of many examples in your life where balance is needed. How about work and play? Being asleep and being awake are other examples of how we use Yin and Yang in our lives. Sure, it was developed so very long ago with ancient divination involved but we can still apply its basic principles to our lives today. How do you see Yin and Yang in your life? No matter how you use its interpretation, just remember the duality of balance that is needed everyday. Some things sound bad but then good can come if we allow it. Hopefully, if you are sick you get well but if not, Yin and Yang becomes something different you need to explore more deeply. I will bust a little myth here about the Yin and Yang of life and death. I truly believe ( and most may know this already if you aren’t new here) but there are three components. Yin and Yang CAN be life and death but life begins again in eternity. Then it becomes life/death/ life. You may not believe this but just wanted to throw in an exception of mine with the duality of Yin and Yang.
Feel free to explore this topic more on your own as you recognize the Yin and Yang of yourself and all of us together in this world. Keep the balance and accept all that life offers you. Let me know how it works for you and share with anyone searching for the true meaning of this ancient symbology. Embrace your Yin and Yang and remain truly present since that’s who we are…
*** P.S. I totally forgot another movie reference from last week that I own on VHS. “Meet Joe Black” starring Brad Pitt as the Angel of Death who becomes human was another one I loved. Also from 1998 that I got as a Christmas gift! Guess I truly was destined down this path! ***
~~~ Next week, I will be doing a little refresher for anyone new but it’s kinda fun going back a little…. It’s about Why Spiritual Gifts Open and why for some and not others? So, stay tuned and always stay true Spirit Friends! Keep that Yin and Yang in check!
